Overgrown and neglected, the area has become a meeting area for
anti-social behaviour. Offenders on Community Payback will clear the
area to create a safe environment for the community to enjoy.
Identified by local residents and community groups, the park is in
urgent need of work to clear overgrown, neglected bushes and remove
unwanted rubbish to restore the park in time for summer.
Local residents would like to make more use of this park which is
currently blighted by anti-social behaviour. The Community Payback
project will transform the park, making walkways and communal areas open
and litter free.
The area is suffering from fly tipping, criminal damage and run-down
empty properties. Offenders will clear the area to transform its
appearance, repair damage to fencing and carry out general maintenance.
Offenders will conduct a major clear up of the neglected empty properties, clearing the fly tipping and working on the unmaintained walkways, making Ryhope a safer area for the local community.
